Tata’s e-commerce foray via Tata New to take on the Amazons of the world has been a complete disaster. The company is expected to miss its sales target by half and has reported $4 billion of gross merchandise value instead of $8 billion.
 
                    Tata Unistore, an e-commerce company which sells under the ‘Tata Cliq’ brand and merged with Tata Digital, has made a huge loss. Tata Industries, which was the promoter of Tata Unistore, has made a loss of Rs 2,000 crore from Tata Unistore in fiscal 2023.
Tata Neu users say it is the ‘worst’ ecommerce app and can’t take on the competition from Amazon, Flipkart or even the less popular Reliance Jio Mart.
