Jindal dreams of e-car foray

63-year-old Sajjan Jindal is dreaming big of entering the Indian car market in association with Saic Motor Corporation of China. Jindal has formed a joint venture which will launch the latest electric cars which are dominating the Chinese market.

As per the plan, the JV will have Jindal as a majority partner in the future and will offer royalty to the Chinese parent. MG Motor, which is owned by SAIC, will transfer its current electric car business to the JV. MG Motor’s petrol and diesel engine cars are not doing very well and may eventually stop being produced, dealers say.

Jindal is expected to give tough competition to the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, who will launch his signature Tesla cars by next year
