Tata and Piramal are planning to exit the residential real estate business to focus on the commercial space. After working for two decades, the Tatas have realised that they are unable to crack the residential space.
The Tatas have a land bank of Rs 18,000 crore and plan to use this for commercial purposes.
Piramal, after a bitter experience in lending to real estate developers, wants to end its real estate business so as to focus on financial services business.
