Tie-ups with Liebherr & Veda Aeronautics

Bharat Forge (BFL) and Liebherr-Aerospace & Trans portation SAS have announced a landmark collaboration to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in India. This initiative represents a significant investment in cutting-edge technologies, including a ring mill, advanced machining of landing gear components and raw material pro cessing, to support the growing demands of the global aerospace industry.

As part of the strategic partnership, BFL will set up a state-of-the-art manu facturing facility at its headquarters in Pune, India, that is planned to be opera tional in 2025, to address the global aero space industry demand.

The new facility will feature a ring mill that incorporates advanced forging and machining technologies to produce high-precision components, including Landing Gear Components. The invest ment, led by BFL, underscores the commitment of the com pany to deliver world-class solutions for Liebherr and its global customer base.

MoU FOR UAVs

In another development, BFL and VEDA Aeronautics (P) Ltd (VEDA), an Indian aerospace & defence company involved in development and supply of Unmanned Sys tems, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and other High-Speed Aerial Weapon systems used in the battlefield. While VEDA has been engaged in shaping the unmanned system technology for defence services, BFL will supply the micro jet engines used in these unmanned sys tems. The MoU is expected to play a vital role in leveraging each other’s capabili ties to strengthen India’s defence capabili ties and contribute to national self-reliance.

Commenting on these two develop ments, Guru Prasad Biswal, CEO (Aero space division) of the company, said, “Col laboration with Liebherr is a testament to our shared commitment to innovation and excellence. Our investment in the ring mill and landing gear machining capabilities highlight our focus on delivering precision engineered components and creating long term value for the aerospace industry.” Likewise, on the collaboration with VEDA Aeronautics, Mr Biswal said, “BFL will focus on indigenous development of jet engines up to 400 kgf thrust to power the unmanned systems developed for the Indian defence forces. VEDA will use the 40 and 45 kgf engines developed by us for its all defence projects.”
