Headquartered in Mumbai, Bharat Bijlee, a publicly listed company is a pioneer of electrical engineering in India. TECHNOLOGY PIONEER

Bharat Bijlee manufactures Premium Efficiency IE4 class and Ultra Premium Efficiency class IE5 motors under the brand name SynchroVERT®. It has an exclusive technology partnership with KEB Automation, Germany for the manufacture of variable frequency drives, designed for applications demanding the best performance in accuracy, speed and response time. Along with motors and its comprehensive range of variable speed drives and engineered drive systems, Bharat Bijlee offers automation solutions for a range of industries.

The Magnet Technology Machines division of the company makes the GreenStar® range of gearless machines for passenger elevators, goods elevators and home elevators that offer significant energy-savings.

The company has seen many ups and downs in its financial performance during the last 80 years. But of late it is on a distinct growth path. During the last 12 years, its sales turnover has more than trebled from Rs 485 crore in fiscal 2014 to Rs 1,912 crore in fiscal 2025. With a lineage of eight decades, Bharat Bijlee continues to be focused on growth; through expansion of its manufacturing range and capacities, related diversifications and foray into new markets through strategic partnerships.

RESERVE CUSHION

The company’s financial position is very strong, with reserves as on September 30, 2025 standing at Rs 2,189 crore – more than 363 times its tiny equity capital of Rs 6 crore. The company has been reducing its debt, which has come down from Rs 287 crore in fiscal 2023 to just Rs 80 crore by March 2025. Prospects for the company going ahead are quite promising.
