In a significant move aligning with the 'Make in India' vision, Nazara Technologies has surged ahead by joining forces with four distinguished gaming studios. The announcement propelled Nazara's shares 5% higher on December 20, marking a pivotal moment for the Indian gaming industry.
The collaboration is set to unleash five new games, each crafted by a unique Indian game studio. Among them, 'Gravity Shooter,' a dynamic 2D action game by Smash Head Studios, promises an immersive gaming experience. Wandermind Labs contributes 'World Cricket League,' a cutting-edge 3D multiplayer cricket game, while Pixcell Play introduces 'Hacked: Password Puzzle,' a captivating puzzle game. Additionally, 'Laser Tanks' and 'Paperly' are set to emerge from the creative prowess of ATG Studios.
Nitish Mittersain, Jt. MD & CEO of Nazara, emphasized the company's dedication to fostering the growth of Indian game developers. He highlighted the Nazara Publishing division's utilization of innovative AI-led tools from the new Nazara SDK, aimed at providing robust support and unique gaming experiences to the vibrant Indian gaming community.
Looking ahead, Nazara Technologies aims to release a total of 20 games within the next 12 to 18 months, with a substantial investment ranging from Rs 1 to 3 Crore per game. This strategic initiative not only underscores Nazara's commitment to the gaming ecosystem but also positions the company as a catalyst for the growth and development of game creators across India.
Despite the initial surge, Nazara Technologies faced market fluctuations, with shares shedding all early gains and closing 3.79% lower at Rs 842.05 on NSE by 3:30 pm. This fluctuation reflects the dynamic nature of the gaming industry and the challenges companies navigate in the evolving market landscape.
Nazara Technologies' collaboration with Indian gaming studios marks a significant step towards realizing the 'Make in India' vision for the gaming industry. As the company paves the way for diverse and innovative gaming experiences, its commitment to supporting local game developers positions Nazara as a key player in shaping the future of gaming in India.
